If you don not mind a raised finish, I would put some tung oil (boiled linseed oil) on the door, it will darken it somewhat. Let it dry, add more color to satisfy your self and then put some SPAR varnish to provide the maximum sun protection and sealing of the door. Not a professional finisher, but have worked with wood for the last 70 years.
