Outdated red oak cabinets line three sides of the kitchen in the 1972 ranch house we recently bought, and the north wall is blank. My wife, Margaret, decided to place a sycamore pantry cabinet there that would set the tone for the rest of a kitchen remodel. Being very considerate and knowing how busy I am, she thought it would make sense to buy factory cabinets.
