The router is the 3.25 HP, TRA001 model. When lowering the collet it feels like it hits a hard stop about 1" from the base. This happened before and I jiggled and fiddled with all the knobs. When pushing the knob in the handle deeper than normal and twisting the knob side-to-side, it freed up and allowed the collet to extend as far as possible through the baseplate. It is stuck again and I can't get it unstuck. Any ideas?
I'd also like to find a repair center in the US. The website "find a dealer" function did not find anything in the central Ohio area. Does anyone know how to speak to a Triton representative in the US?
I will not buy another Triton product until they get easy access to USA based customer service representatives and repair centers.
I emailed Triton and received the following response. The customer service representative was correct regarding the cause. I'm thankful for her prompt response and the contact number.

Christopher,
Thank you for your inquiry with us.
This may sound odd, but did you actually turn the power off on the router itself?? If not, you will not be able to get the collet to fully retract. What happens is when the power is cut through an auxillary, the router does not fully cycle. This makes in impossible to change out the bit. If this is not the issue, then we can explore other options. We do all of the warranty repair here. We stand behind the Triton products 100% and will advise you with any issues or questions you may have. My apologies for the confusion with the Triton web site, however we do not own the web site and we are working with our partners at Triton to get the pertinent information added to the web site. Please feel free to contact us at anytime with any questions you may have, any of our customer service representatives can assist you .
Kind Regards,
Diane McGrath
