&lt;p&gt;We goofed. The product used in the story is General Finishes Topcoat&amp;mdash;which is clear gel varnish. Also, Step 7 of the text says to apply a coat of GF medium brown gel stain. To be more specific, use either GF &amp;quot;Nutmeg&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;Antique Walnut&amp;mdash;but just about any medium brown gel stain will work. It&amp;#39;s OK to experiment!&lt;/p&gt;
