see a lot of products out there for bracing a heavy counter top.  Federal Brace, Fastcap Speed Brace......

Anybody ever work with these?  And do you think they could support the weight as a bench.  The bench, of course would not be made of a heavy granite counter top, but would support the weight of a person sitting and eating.....

Thanks in advance

I have used the Federal Brace products and found that they are substantial brackets.  The supports with the cross brace stiffeners between the support flanges will support a bench.  Don't think that I would use the straight L type brackets like the Freedom style without the stiffeners.  The ones I used were the Brunswick support - http://www.federalbrace.com/Brunswick_Countertop_Brackets_ppsqo_VHV22923YTW_VHV117YTW_VHV6YTW_VHV22923YTW.aspx

You may also want to talk with a Federal Brace rep about the customization services.  I think that they will make a support to suite your design if desired.
