I am starting to look for a 14" bandsaw and do not want to spend much money. The Ridgid brand is available below 500.00 with a 3/4 hp. motor what information can someone provide or suggestions. JMP
I just looked up a few of the options. If you are staying under $500 you may be limited in your quality but there are good bandsaws on the market in that range nonetheless. A few of the options are:
Grizzly G0580 14" 3/4 hp $395.00
Delta 28-276 14" 3/4 hp $564.99
JET JWBS-14S 14" 3/4 hp 549.99
Those are a few I have listed in the database. Watch out for Jet and Delta lately though because they have recently moved their manufacturing to Asia and there has been a significant drop in quality in a lot of their tools.
Good luck!

Thank You for the information that I wil consider. Delta and Jet are possible a good choice.

There are plenty of good used machines at reasonable prices out there. Why not look at Craigslist or search for used woodworking machinary on google.
I cannot help but reply to this old thread since the topic caught my attention. I had used the band saws mentioned. They are considerably less expensive as compared to their contemporaries. However, these machines just perform well and get the job done. This is highly recommended for a budget like yours.
You might want to check out the Porter Cable 14" Bandsaw it looks pretty descent for the money. I am a Grizzly user and have their 17" heavy duty Bandsaw
