All purpose work holding positioner, perfect for industrial and home hobbyist applications. A single knob controls tilting, turning, rotation and can lock in any position. This positioner is patented (D336095) and was built solely to outperform positioners/workholders of other leading manufacturers in terms of price and function. Comparing the other big name manufacturers this positioner has a bigger base for hold-down with four bolt holes, and all steel construction- NO castings what so ever on this work holding positioner, every part is precision machined. Acme Machine sought out to build a more rigid, stronger positioner for a better buck than what other top selling manufacturing company's were charging for theirs. Others companies retailing for $300-400 new; for the same size the Hydra Positioner sold for just around $200 new. Nice smooth surface and built to last.
these are brand new, i have been selling them for a while now and people love them. They were mainly created for carving but the amount of applications are endless.
The Hydra-Positioner is manufactured by
Acme Machine Company.
The Hydra-Positioner was put under a weight test, The positioner held 25 lbs. safely on a 12 inch lever arm. any abnormal objects or things mounted not on center will cause weight displacement to change.
This is kind of unique. As mentionned it could be very usefull. However, in woodworking, I believe the utility for it would be holding a block of wood for carving. Other than that, I can't see.
Best,
Serge
