I want to make my own tapered wood siding. For a project I want to build. The pieces will be 4to5" wide. I would like to use my 12" planer to do so. I am looking for suggestions on how to do this. I figure that some sort of a jig will be needed, to produce the same size pieces again and again.  Has anyone done this or have any ideas on a jig

Thanks Jeff

Two options:

1. resaw on a bndsaw.

2. Build a sled that holds the wood at the angle you need and run it through the planner.  NOT you cannot run it through acroos the grain it must go through with the grain.

There are a few possibilities...  Resaw on a bandsaw, or use an angled sled to run the board through your planner
