I have a Shop Master band saw. Probably circa 1950. It is belt driven, I need to know what size of motor it requires and what speed and pulley size as it came without.
You will need a manual for that saw. If you can find one, the prescribed size of the motor, speed and pulley size should be written on it. But seeing that it is 62 years old, I’m not sure what to suggest. You may be able to find someone here with a similar saw. Try ebay, amazon, bandsawmanuals.com or some other forum sites.
If you can find the model number or serial number this could help you find what you are looking for on the internet. The over all size of the saw is going to make a differnece on the size motor you will need. Also you could look on ebay for your saw and ask the seller some questions reguarding the motor and pulley size.

The bigger the size of the saw, the bigger or the more powerful the motor is required.
