My daughter wants me to make a hall tree with a mirror about 20 by 48 inches. I have not been able to find any articles that tell how to mount it and attach the mirror/back to the base. Advice will be appreciated.

Hi There. I know you asked the question a long time ago, but my advice would be to make a rabbet on back of the faceframe. If the face frame is 3/4" i would make a 1/2" deep rabbet (1/4"wide) for the mirror to rest in. I'd make a second rabbet 1/4" deep (1/2" wide) for some stop to be screwed in to hold the mirror in place.

So if you don't mind me asking, how did you do it? Do you have a picture?
