Tool News - MLCS Coping Sleds
RATE THIS:
MLCS Woodworking recently introduced a new line of Deluxe Coping Safety Sleds. All the sleds come with a 500lb. holding clamp, a solid heavy duty base, replaceable backer blocks, and dual handles.
The Deluxe Coping Safety Sled works perfectly for tricky cross-grain rail cuts, eliminating the need to make the router table fence and miter slot parallel. Small and narrow cuts will be no problem. A 500 lb. holding clamp and a special abrasive strip hold your material in place once you align it flush with the outer edge. Just glide the sled along your router fence using the sturdy plastic handle. Cut into the backer block (reducing sloppy tearout), completing your cut. This 4-3/4" x 15-3/4", 3/8" thick PVC sled can also hold smaller work pieces, keeping fingers away from dangerous blades. Item #9544, $34.95
The Professional Coping Safety Sled a bigger version of the safety sled above, this large sled is designed with a clear base and adjustable dual fence for more strength and rigidity. This heavy duty coping sled measures 6-1/2" x 16" x 3/8" thick and will hold up to 4-3/4" wide stock. The coping sled handle can be repositioned using the pre-drilled mounting holes on the opposite of the base provided for shaper and reverse feed operations. Item #9546, $64.95
Professional Deluxe Coping Safety Sled with dual adjustable fences and hold down. The 500lb. capacity hold down clamp has heavy duty adjustable dual pad hold downs for even more strength and rigidity. The coping sled handle can be repositioned using the pre-drilled mounting holes on the opposite of the base provided for shaper and reverse feed operations. Item #9548, $74.95.
