45 years ago my shop teacher had us raise the saw to its max and using the miter, crosscut 2 straight boards, that were almost as high as the raised saw. Keeping the edges that were down during the cut, down on the tabletop, rotate one of the boards 180 deg to the other, butt the 2 cut ends together, and look for light. You are using the actual product of the cut for the test and if there is any error, it will be magnified by 2 when you view it.
