Brass Ice Cream Scoops with Black Walnut Handles

RATE THIS:

This was a fun and easy project to do on the lathe. I got the idea from American Woodworker Magazine. I used some Black Walnut logs I harvested and dried out in my basement. I used Pure Tung Oil for the finish and I bought the scoops from Rockler.com.

Nice job. It's a good idea you had making different shaped handles. Just lovely.

Well done. Congrats.

PS: You're making me think that I should go back to turning!  Do you have a full size lathe or a midi-lathe?

    Best,

Dear Bricofleur,

I have a General International Maxi Lathe. It can turn up to about 10" diameter and I bought the extension witch I can turn up to about 36" in length.
