I finally made my shopmade router D-handle base. I've been thinking about that for months. I was inspired by Carol Reed's design.
The sub-base is made out of 3/8''-thick Plexiglass and the handle is nothing but two pieces of scrap plywood glued together. Two short afternoons spent in the shop and it was done. I wonder why I waited so long.
No more tipping in sight when milling edges.
Take a look at the details and short videos on my website and build you own. Don't wait as I did!
Shopmade D-handle Router Base
NB: In my area, a commercial D-handle base for this router costs about $100.
When retired, you don't have much money... but you have more time!
Best,
Serge
